Kölker Stefan
Prof. Kölker is Full Professor of Translational Metabolic Medicine and Pediatric Neurology at the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University and Head of the Division of Pediatric Neurology and Metabolic Medicine at the Centre for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Marburg and then trained as a specialist in Pediatrics and subsequently in Pediatric Metabolic Medicine as well as Pediatric Neurology in the Centre for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital.
Prof. Kölker has a long-standing experience in clinical and translational research focusing on inherited metabolic diseases, particular intoxication-type and neurometabolic diseases, and newborn screening. He is coordinator of the EU-funded projects E-IMD and U-IMD, vice-coordinator of MetabERN, and Principal Investigator of longitudinal observational studies that aims to elucidate phenotypic diversity, predictive outcome measures and biomarkers, and the impact of early diagnosis and treatment on clinical outcome of individuals with rare inherited metabolic diseases.
