Dr. Jurgita Songailienė is a laboratory medicine physician. Since 2006 she is head of the Laboratory for Neonatal Screening and Diagnostic of Inborn Errors of Metabolism at the Medical Genetics Centre of Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, Vilnius, Lithuania.

Jurgita Songailienė has been working in the field of rare diseases for more than 20 years and is responsible for the organisation and development of national newborn screening in Lithuania, laboratory diagnosis of inborn errors of metabolism and the application of the laboratory quality management system.
